As is the usual cadence (January and June), the Candidate List of Substances of Very High Concern (SVHC) for authorization has been updated. The most recent update has resulted in the addition of six total entries (with eight unique CAS Numbers). This begs the question, “How well do you know your products?” Hopefully you know them well enough to quickly and easily identify if any of them contain these substances (but if not, that’s okay!). Knowing your products is important because organizations have legal obligations that result from substances included on this list. Obligations range from additional communication throughout the supply chain to notifying the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA). ECHA has a great summary of obligations that result from a substance being added to the Candidate List.
